eye surgery

ok...let me just tell you guys that i'm getting lasik eye surgery this thursday. am i insane???? we know what happens to me all the time. nothing ever seems to go right. let me just tell you that if i go blind, i'm going to be pissed. anyway, i'll write more later. i have to go finish my invitations:( boo...just get her july 22. chelsie, you're getting married in less than 3 weeks. what is going on?

does everyone (minus gina because she's obviously not reading this) see where right to the right of this blog it says contributors and then lists our names. i'm just having a hard time understanding why gina's name is listed as a contributor....GINA!! noo, i'm just giving you a hard time G...but seriously...are you okay? did you get hit in the back with a hammer? because that's the rumor going around

hair fiasco

Hey hey! whit - are you done with your invitations yet? okay so i know that whit and i always talk about how much we hate wedding planning. so just to add to that let me tell you another example of why it sucks. whit's already heard this so whit you can skip over this story if you like. okay so i made an appointment to get my hair done for my wedding at mario tricoci..this really big hair salon smack downtown chicago on michigan ave. it's supposed to be a great place. so about a week ago i went in for my "trial run." well an hour and a half of sitting in that uncomfortable salon chair and my hair seriously looked like a pile of crap. and then get this. the lady who did it turns and looks at me and says, "yeah, it looks like you're going to go play soccer." HELLO!! THEN WHY THE F DID YOU PUT MY HAIR UP LIKE THAT! i honestly thought it was like her first time doing hair ever. i looked ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! seriously i would have rather just pulled my hair in a pony tail and climbed a swiss alp and then walk down the aisle than the way she did my hair. soo.... after it was over she's like "i'll give you a second trial run on me" so i was like okay, i'll give her one more shot..i mean it's free anyways. so i go back in like two days later. another hour and a half in that dumb swirly chair and i looked like i was 45 years old. she did my hair in these tight curls and my hair was really really slick and structured....definitely not me!! i felt like i was 45 not 23. the second time was slightly better than the first but still i was really disappointed. and the girl had attitude. i was like...ya know it'd be okay if you had attitude and were actually good at hair...but you suck! so she's out. no more chances. so round 1 = totaly disaster. round 2 = disaster. but i went to this new place yesterday morning and loved the girl who did my hair and it turned out really well. so i'm really relieved now that i actually have a stylist! yay! Sarah, tara, Gina - i'm bummed you can't come to the wedding!! definitely sucks! but that just means we have to plan a trip for all of us soon so we can see each other!! sarah - sounds like you're having a great time in NY! and CONGRATS ON GETTING THE CONTRACT!!!!!! SWEEEEEEET! and p.s. i loved that story about the beer can..haha...you're too funny. tara - that apartment looks so freakin awesome. Congrats on that! when are you moving? allright...gotta run but i miss all of you so much and always remember how much fun i have with all of you. LOVE YOU! keep blogging :) i love reading these! oh did i mention i have to move THIS FRIDAY..yes in 2 days...to my new place in Rockford. goodbye Chicago! :( soo sad.

Moving On Up and Growing Up

Hey there pretty ladies...doesn't that sound creepy? Like something a sick 50 year old skeezy man would say to you? Oh well, hi girls! So it's been awhile since I've blogged, though not as long as some others, ahem Gina. Wow ok poor Gina, we all pick on her about that. Anyway I miss you guys! I was riding the tube to work today, and Tina TUrner's "What's Love Got To Do With It?' came on my ipod and made me think about Gryon and you girls! So yea we need to go back asap.
Things here are going really well. I am continuing to settle in and really am enjoying life here in the BIg Apple. 2 weeks ago I went into my boss's office after that meeting where I was told I would be a temp for anohter couple of months, think I blogged about it because I was pretty upset about that, anyway told her that I loved working here, but unless I got a contract asap I owuld be looking for other means of employment. So I met with the prinicipal 2 days later and got my contract! I had a momentary breakdown when I was going to drop off my signed copy to the principal, knowing that I now have my next year set. Which, as you girls know, I am not such a planner so that kinda scared me. But I think it's a good move on my part, just weird to be growing up, well kinda growing up. It kicks in on June 1 but it's all signed and ready to go. SO that has made a big difference. Been going out with my friends a lot and been having a good time. I've met some more coworkers too, which is always nice to make more friends. My roomie Kim and I have become great friends, and through her I ma meeting some of her friends, so never a dull moment, which is how I like it! This weekend I went to a great tapas restaurant with a friend from CPK and had soo much fun, then I went out on Saturday night with some other buddies and came in as the sun was coming up, ah. I thought it would be a good idea to try and crush a beer can on my head, because I've always wanted to do that, and my roomie's boufriend was encouraging me. So after several failed attempts, I now (still) have a ring on the top of my forehead of the beer can. Nice one Sarah. Not gonna lie, my head is still kinda sore, why do I do these things? My friends made a picture montage of this ridiculous stunt from start to finish, there's one for the scrapbook.
So as of right now, I am planning on being in NYC for the next year, but after that, unless something really chages, which is totally possible, a year is a long time, I'm thinking it might be time for the next adventure. A year and a half is a long time for this old girl to be standing still.
So I'm heading home this coming weekend for Becca's wedding, Tara'a and my friend from London, this coming Saturday, which worked out well because it's over Memorial Day. It's in Chapel HIll which I am excited about because I am staying that night with my friend Kubis and going out with him and hopefully some other friends. Then I am home all that week, which I am thrilled about, because I am in my college roommates wedding the next weekend! A week at home with my fam and my animals is defintely gonig to be great.
So that's about it with my life, just missing you girls and wising we could all be taking a leisurely stroll up the Swiss Alps for a picnic. Whitney, I am in Italy for your wedding:( and Chelsie, I wrote you a couple of weeks ago about trying to find a flight out there but not sure if I could swing it. It's not looknig so great, especially because of this next week me taking off and being gone, but unfortunately it's been planned for forever. So I hate to say that it's just not really feasible for me to come, which I really hate. I will keep looking and see if there's a way I can come, but don't think I am going to be able to. I am so sorry girls, I cannot tell you how much it means to me to be invited to your specail days, and cannot tell yuo how much I absolutely hate that I can't come. Just annoys me that if I had been put on salary and contract when I was told that I would be that this might not have been an issue. But that's the breaks I suppose. But somehow, we are all going to get together soon, because it has been too long for us all not to see each other.
I better go, as this is an insaenly long blog. I love you guys! I think about you all all of the time, and hope that everyone is happy.

where have i been?

oh my gosh...so i seriously have been craving the blog past couple weeks. life has gotten so so crazy that i haven't even really been checking my email. but, this is a treat night (literally...brownies, scones, and pudding surround me right now). so, i'm working on my final address list for the wedding invites, and i just got really annoyed b/c addresses are in like 15 different books, so i quit and now i'm checking up on you guys. chels, did you get my message today?!?!?!?! ummm.....hello....exactly one month until your wedding! i'm freaking out!
ok, so let me just tell you that God hates me b/c two weeks ago my invitation lady quit (with our help) and we had to go find someone 2 weeks ago. mind you the invitations need to go out in a week. so, i'm super stressing b/c we have to assemble all of them and it takes 10 min. per invitation which all together totals 33 hours. right. please let me spend 8 hours a day on my invitations for the next week. chels, i echo your thoughts...i hate hate wedding planning.
i go in for my first fitting for my new dress next wednesday. keep your fingers crossed. i think all should go well.
tara, i'm seriously so so so excited for you! boston is amazing and i would love to come visit you and sarah. so, when are you moving in? you're so cute and creative with your video and all. by the way, i absolutely love the hair! sarah, sorry that your job is super annoying right now. they obviously don't know what a good thing they have by not giving you the more permanant position yet. tell me about some of your new friends. i'm so jealous that you and tara got to hang out the other weekend. i miss you both like crazy! by the way, are you going to be in italy during my wedding? i can't remember if you said that was for sure or not. i'll be so sad. tara, don't get any ideas.
so, gina is alive. but, this one really scary thing did happen to her. about a week ago the alarm in her house went off because whenever a girl runs or something the alarm goes off. so, gina unlocks her door (which has its own entrance) and the girl was standing right in front of her door just starring at gina (her hands were behind her back). all of the sudden she pulled out this hammer she was holding and started slamming into gina's door and tried to hit gina as hard as she could with it. gina got hit really hard in the back but luckily the other supervisor that lives in the house came to help by this time, so between the two of them they pulled her off gina. isn't that crazy. gina could have had her scull cracked in or something!
ok, so i just made that entire story up because i thought that gina needed a little attention. but, she is doing fine...just really busy. i'll remind her of the blog! nerd...i shouldn't have to do any reminding!
so, tomorrow and friday are my last days subbing and then i'm just tutoring through june. i'm going up to mn this weekend, and no chels, i'm not super into camping and laking, but i survived a few months in europe, so i can really do anything. ok, i love you girls so much and miss you like hell. hope to hear from you soon!

Whitney....how is the dressing turning out??? I know it is a huge fiasco, but just remember that I think you are hot no matter what...and just think how perfectly waxed your body is going to be for the wedding...you love wax!!

Chelsie....I received your wedding inivitation, beautiful!!! And so original! I loved them....however, I have some terrible news. I RSVP'd to a different wedding for the exact same day here in quincy just one week before receiving yours. I am devastated and wish so badly that I hadn't been so trigger happy in returning her invitation. :-( I am going to miss you big day, but please know that I am thinking of you and wishing I could be there.

Gina....where are you??? are you alive??? Does anyone know if she's alive!!??? I hope one of the troubled girls hasn't broken her hand mirror and tried to stab her!!! Gina!!! Please respond!!

Sarah....thank you thank you for the delightful e-card that was in my e-mail!!! you know how much I love that stuff!!! Are you feeling better than when I talked to you this morning?? Do even remember talking to me??? I never remember talking to people when I'm in that state.


Oh, girls....I have the BEST news!!!!

I GOT AN APARTMENT IN BOSTON!!!!!! I am so excited!!! Here is a picture of the living room:

Isn't is just beautiful!!!??? I am so thrilled...I can't even tell you!!! I found the place on craigslist.com and I'm living with two girls, one is 28 and a nursing graduate student, the other is 24 and works for gap as a district manager or something. They met in college and were looking for a third person to fill their apartment....and they picked me!!! I talked to them last week and they said they really liked me, but they were going to have an open house to just see who else showed up, understandable....but I wasn't about to just sit there and let this amazing place just slip away!! So....the open house was yesterday....and in a desperate attempt to show my interest, my mom helped me make a little 10 second video that had me pretending to come to the open house and tell them that I'm fun and clean and everything in it....I even pretended that my (angelic) dog came with me...so funny...and tacky...but it worked!!!!!

Anyway, I'm pretty pumped and you girls are the first ones to hear about it...obviously!!! These two girls are definitely life helpers!!!!!

Ok...I'm on my way to bed...but I love you all and miss miss miss Y-O-U!!!!
